- I was having a little bit of trouble with starting with the prompts and then working into a good story. I did ask if I could just start from where I felt like, but Iximaz said no.
My impression of the PPC pre-missions is that it could take place in some of the less professional real-world offices. Mostly I've seen that when they're in the RC's, they're playing video games, doing arcane rituals, jazzercising, or arguing with belligerent minis. (I apologize for my malfunctioning spell-check.)
I like when the stories have a chance for things to get literal, like when Harry's flaming emerald orbs went rolling across the floor. Or there was the time that gravity kept shifting because of dioganle scene-breaks.
2. Kelly's archetype is a more subdued character that's usually there to help other characters shine. Ing's thoughts are hidden because I didn't want to head-hop, but she's just trying on the joke to see if she likes it. I'd switch POV but I'm not sure who Ing is yet, and I won't know until I've thrown her into the field.
I've read a lot of PPC stories where I have no idea who the characters are because I haven't read their bios. There was one where I thought that he was a giant snail-monster when I first started reading the mission. Turns out he was one of those blue deer-centaurs. I studied his journal and it was a complete waste of first-person perspective because third person limited would have given us the same information. I think I've recently read stories with a better deer-centaur that might be the same guy. There's another one where the guy likes Stargate and constantly calls his partner "Orky."
