Now that makes me feel old and slightly annoyed at myself for not even realising that my 15 year Board anniversary came and went back in February.
For you see, there are actually (at least) four of us that have been around for 15 years (can't remember exactly when doctorlit joined up) plus several more that have hit the 10 year mark.
I also hope the Board and Community is still going strong in 2037 - I may have even finished writing my next mission by then!
Also, have a pet mongoose. For reasons lost to time, that's the gift that I give board newbies.

"Yet another childhood ruined by badfic" is a good line.
The writing flows really well.
I like the bit with Merry and Pippin getting flashy-thinged to keep the badfic going.
It is too bad you can't fit "pissing off PPC agents" into exorcisms. I mean, you probably could if you fiddled with the mission structure, some, but there's not usually a good place for it.
Re talking without being noticed: apparently PPC missions can be educational.
It's nice to see missions pointing out positives or potential positives about a fic. It's a trend (though the dataset is small) I've been seeing more of these days, I think, and I'd say it's a good thing.
The illusion thing was clever, and it's good that Liz was as confused as I was, because that scene left me wondering wtf just happened too.
Overall, I got a good sense of the core of the problems with the fic, and, more importantly, the mission was a smooth and engaging read!
I'm assuming the first page of setup was a setup for the illusion thing? If not, it's not quite clear why the narrative focus at the beginning didn't quite seem to lead anywhere or establish much (except maybe a general tension that led to the are-ace rage moment). That could just be 11 PM talking though.
Anyhow, looking forward to more

It's Lord of the Rings, post-Numenor Mordor. A very smutty fic, with sexual assault and NSFB thrown in.

My apologies for being late. My agents were acting up and I had to settle the agruement.
I don't have any cookies. One of my agents {Settle down back there!} stole them. Maybe it was O'Ryan when he left to become a math teacher. A math teacher! What an absurd thought!
(Apologies. I didn't realize I could change what was shown in the Author box until today.)

It's called Sky: Children of the Light.
Sky's a mobile MMO, but it's an actually good one. There's no combat, but there's a ton of beautiful places to explore and puzzles to solve with friends. Really wholesome and low-key, and free!
... I don't really know what to say about it. Just check it out, it's very, very much worth playing. Turn up the volume and clear your schedule.

Beta request
Reply
Whelp, I finally got my Permission request done, so I now need some Betas.
The doc is about 2,300 words long. I would like general SPaG betas as well as those who can help with flow and other things. For the SPaG, comma knowledge would be really appreciated. There are some mentions of PPC canon objects and locations, but no major PPC knowledge is needed.
I prefer to send the doc link over Discord PM (if that's possible) although I'll email it if need be.
If you are emailing or PM-ing your critique, please put it in list form if possible.
If you need any other info, just reply and I will happily respond ASAP.
(Note: I still require at least one more Beta.)

Khayon is neat by

I keep meaning to read that book. It's ADB and people mostly like him. Mind, the book itself seems a bit controversial... actually, that's a pattern with a lot of thing ADB wrote.
Anyways, yeah. Khayon is the Son who split off from the Sons early on and signed on with Abaddon. He also binds demons to Tarot cards, so if TTS introduces him as a character and doesn't make Kitten play Yu-Gi-Oh! against him that will be a missed opportunity.
(Yes, that's a running gag in TTS)

Beta request

So, I finally finished the first draft of my mission. I see that a lot of mission writers have at least two people beta-ing, and I decided to do the same.
I'll either email the Google Doc link to any volunteers, or share it via Discord, depending on which one you're comfortable with.
Thanks in advance.

^_^ We're way older than the Wiki. by

For reference, this is the Wiki's founder, so apparently I joined the day after she created it. Fun and profit!
I also remember spending a good half year working hard on those badges. That '100 days' badge was entirely deliberate (and I only don't have the next one up because of the summer holidays).
(I also want to say I'm behind the Agent and Flower editing track badges? Not positive of that, but they look like my style. So I had a vested interest. :))
Nesh, of course, is in a whole nother league when it comes to badge collection, and I don't think she's even doing it on purpose. :O
Anyway, see you in... 2037? I recognise that year...
...
:O It's you. You're the one who brings it all about.

It's a clever plan, really. Get the ancientest of oldbies reminiscing about the old days, and then go for the win. Unfortunately, you failed to reckon with a very important fact: There are four of us.
applies a 'welcome to the PPC!' bumper sticker while Genius is distracted
2037's a solid ways, but - I hope this community's still here, and I hope the friends we made along the way remember it fondly. I wouldn't be who I am today without this place, and I think that's true for a lot of us.

I've Put That In My Calendar by

Well, I don't know when you both joined the PPC, but you joined the wiki 10 days after Huinesoron (12/26/2007 for you and 12/16/2007 for him). The amount of badges you have there bothers me (And your first page of badges, save one of them, is completely filled with badges that only you have).
I hope I'll be in the PPC in 2037, but I probably wouldn't remember to celebrate. So, I put it in my calendar. On January 1st 2037 (Coincidentally, also my birthday), I'm going to make a post about this. You've all been warned.
Now that all three of the oldbies have walked into my trap, I'm going to...
DESTROY THEM SO THAT I'LL BE THE OLDEST ACTIVE PPCERcongratulate them for being around for so long! It's great to know that the community is so great that you guys have stayed for so long. Also, it means that you (and Iximaz) have a bunch of stories for me to read!

I'm thirty-four, soon thirty-five. hS and I joined pretty close to the same time in 2003. I might've gotten here a little before he did, but I can't prove it. All I know is I've typically counted from the Glorious 25th of May—I learned about it here on the Board—and my ff.n comment history shows that I was definitely aware of the PPC and reading spin-offs in June 2003.
If we're both still here in 2037, that will be amazing. I'll look forward to it. ^_^
What happens now that you've gotten the oldbie comment trifecta?
