Actually, it's running water. One of those self-contained mini-environments that has a river flowing up and down hills and lifted by water-wheel to return to the beginning. Also, there's a little firebrand in the middle of the 'land'. Enjoy!

But that's not really an instrument. In addition, she sings very low, usually taking male or villian parts in anything with lyrics. But it doesn't work so well for an orchestra. Ah, well. She'll love to watch, though.

Yep, I'm a Loreena McKennitt fan as well, thanks to my dad. That song's quite good, though I prefer the song/poem Bonny Swans...which demonstrates how morbid I can be. (If you don't get that, google "Bonny Swans" or "Bonny Swans lyrics".)

Rain is meant for dancing, and running, and getting wet in, and sometimes staring at and listening to. No one else seems to agree with me there, but it *is*.

Like I said, I'm an obsessive fan of Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, Kiesha'ra and vamps.

Speaking of which, you heard Loreena McKennitt's song version of The Highwayman? She leaves out a few stanzas, but otherwise it's fantastic! I've always found that having a tune to the words makes memorizing much easier. And have you read John Masefield? His sea poems sometimes make me wonder if he didn't have a little of Tolkien's sea longing himself...

As some of you may know, I'm doing a rather large essay for my third-year english class at uni, and I chose to write about fanfiction - the basic goal is to convince anyone who doesn't already know about fanfic (particularly academics) that it is a Good Thing.

To that end, I'm trying to interview as many people as I can, and I'd appreciate any volunteers. Beware that I've compiled a rather long list of questions, and it will take a while. I'd much, much, much rather do it in real-time on msn messenger or gmail chat, and I'm quite happy to split any one interview over several days.

The Copypasta

One day on Halloween, I decided to ... with the major retard at school when I came out of science for break. He was dressed as Ash. Knowing this was going to happen, I brought a Mudkips doll. Thus I started the conversation, making sure no one saw me.

"So I heard you like Mudkips..."

"Mudkips? I LUUUUUUUUUUUURVE MUDKIPS."

"Well uh would you ... a mudki-"

"OF COURSE.

" happen to have a Mudkips here, and."

Before I finished the sentence, which would have resulted in me hitting him across the face with the doll, he grabbed it. In one swift motion his pants were down and he was violently humping it. Not to get between a man and his Mudkips, I started to walk away, because there is no way I'd be caught wrestling a half-naked crazy guy humping a Mudkips.

Needles to say, within 5 to 10 seconds, some girls saw him and started screaming. I cooly walked into a restroom, pretending nothing had ever happened; not that I had intended that outcome, but now that it was in play I didn't want to be involved.

I came back two minutes later, and like any wanton act on school grounds there was now a huge crowd round him. He was still ...ing it and baying this real ...ed up 'EEEEEEEEEEINNNNF EEEEEEEEEEINNNF' sound. Suddenly a scuffle broke out in the middle, meaning he probably did something stupid. I asked someone what had happened. A girlfriend of one of the football players tried to get him to stop, but he bit her for trying to take it away. Someone called in a few football players (all dressed up like Road Warrior) who proceeded to pummel the shit out of the guy. Meanwhile the school police were freaking out and having trouble getting in to the situation.

A few minutes later the intruder alarm went off and we were shuffled into classrooms. Over the intercom the principal announced that someone had thrown a flaming plush toy into the library. Uh.. what the hell.

So we were kept there and about 30 minutes later the principal came on again. This time he was saying that whoever was behind the beating should turn themselves in. All of a sudden this woman began yelling “I WILL SUE YOU FOR DAMAGES. YOU LITTLE PUNKS, I’M GONNA SUE…” and it was cut off.

I asked an office later what had happened. Apparently his mother had come to pick him up and threatened to sue for the beating and 'whatever else happened.' The school threatened to counter-sue because of lewd conduct, inciting a riot, and starting a fight.

So I ask you: do you like Mudkips?

I really wish there was a tracer for this sort of thing so we could visit the real life sender and lecture them on grammar and spellcheck.

My former English teacher would have raised hell in the classroom over this. She once lectured a Mazda Car Dealership in White Rock on the difference between "You're" and "Your" as in "Your invited."

Ooo, cute. It can live next to my desk, because the top's getting crowded (Lilly the iguana, Laura the Spork, computer, etc.) and I shall name it Noname (pronounced no-nawm-ay).

I have some agents, but they do not PPC yet, as I have yet to quite understand the Permission Givers. Is there some amount of time I have to wait before I can ask them?

I just got an email from the WikiLot administrators, which is that WikiLot is going to be shutting down all the wikis running on their servers. Tomorrow, no less.

This includes the PPC wiki.

"We have some sad news. Effective tomorrow WikiLot will be shutting down. We can no longer afford to keep the site running. We suggest using the export feature on you wiki to export your database to a file. Then you can sign up for a wiki at Wikia or another Wiki Farm and import your wiki. We apologize for this inconvenience."

I've already begun to fill out the request for a Wikia wiki, and have begun to export all of the Wiki articles so far so that way we'll still have everything.

But yeah. One day notice? Not fun.

Is there some sort of central organization that supports OFUs? By which I mean an organization that supplies funding, sets certain regulations (such as a fine for unwarranted student deaths), and generally makes sure that the students are Learning Through Pain.
