I'm interested in eventually seeking Permission to make my own reports, but before I do that I'd like to interact a bit more. I haven't been able to find the Lounge's Discord link, could someone please send that to me? Thanks.

Come to think of it, there was one game where one of us got a DoGA agent on the field and they started discarding every location in play to narrow the action down to three tiles . . . That wasn't a very exciting game . . .

It's official, this is happening! At the very least, I believe Tomash, doctorlit, and Thoth will be attending, plus myself and Phobos because we live here. ^_^
Potential activities on the 11th and/or 12th include a visit to the Lincoln Park Zoo (free!), various museums (potentially free!), and board games and birthday cake at my place (definitely free)! The 11th is my birthday, y'see. {= ) More exact itinerary TBD as we get closer and see what the weather and people's interest levels are like.
Phobos and I still have room to host 1-2 people, provided you are vaccinated and test negative for COVID prior to travel. (We'll get ourselves tested shortly ahead of time, too.) If this would make your life easier, feel free to e-mail me or hit me up on Discord to inquire.

The previous X-Men films exist in a different continuity than the MCU, hence different minis. Same with the previous Spider-Man films.
Now, since Disney has acquired the rights to those franchises, we may begin to see X-Men characters explicitly in the MCU. I'd say that if they're part of the MCU, misspellings of their names make MCU minis. Probably.
Spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home
I am very much looking forward to seeing what they do with the Multiverse of Madness. ^_^

I will gladly help to slay this. I've read it recently for a free reading project for English. Yes, you read that right. I chose 1984 for a free read project. I am an incurable literature geek. -Claire

*gentle poke* New beta request! by

I don't want to shove threads off the page, so I'll just add on.
I need a beta for David's 4th mission (not third... yet. I haven't done a readover of it. I need to tackle it with my own fine-tooth comb). The canon is technically 1984, but it (similar to "The Spoiled Sue") doesn't play a huge role in it, so no canon knowledge is needed. Again, please DM me on Discord or reply to this reply.

Ah, there's the [BEEP]! And with a lot fewer "E"s than we tend to give it nowadays. Pretty clear why this got changed: agents can easily sleep through a flashing light, but a loud noise is much harder to ignore for any non-deaf agents!
I didn't recall "Joan" getting mentioned here. She must not have gone on to do any PPC writing herself, and therefore didn't get the canonization treatment Architeuthis did. Still . . . I like to think there's a veteran spy named Joan somewhere in Intelligence . . .
The disguise generator gag is great, and they really commit to it throughput the mission, not only using it as an excuse to dress up as Ringwraiths for the assassination, but keeping track of the fact that the agents were mostly limited to verbal communication, and any motions that the hoods could communicate, once the cloaks were recovered.
They really were kind of mean to Makes-Things back then, huh? Partly because they were presenting Jay and Acacia as wacky, unhinged assassins, but yeah . . . I'm glad Makes-Things grew to be less timid over the years.
The funniest line for sure is in the ending notes: "We no longer have a famine of suggestions . . ." Partly because it's fantastic word choice, and partly because we never would again.

I think that might be because X-Men films are made by a different studio from Marvel? by

It’s part of the reason why the MCU doesn’t straight up say “mutants” when referring to characters like Pietro Maximoff, who show up in both MCU and X-Men movies but are played by different people.

Hello, I'm Sierpinski. I followed the PPC but never posted anything way back sometime around 2017, 2016 or so. I'm something of an amateur writer and supreme amateur author who might get back into mockeries to blow off stress. I genuinely thought that these boards went defunct like Project AFTER did some time around 2019 or so. Turns out I hadn't investigated closely enough.
I've read the Original Series and Constitution, and used to follow things a few years back. My memory is pretty hazy of these things though, I might need to re-read to get a refresher course. I don't quite remember how I found the PPC the first time, I think it was looking for bad fanfiction.
I have some old notes for badfic to work with, so I might show up with some agents soon. We'll see.

I could swear I put the paragraph breaks. Something must've gone wrong somewhere.
As for the carrier, I can easily have it running aground instead of sinking and all the non-Sues being evacuated instead of going to the Locker. Would minor (but still excessive for the Mission in question) damage to the vessel warrant a punishment detail?

H'okay so!
I have no idea when the Card Game started - definitely before 2008, possibly as far back as 2005. There were only ever 5 Generations, and the rules changed dramatically for Gen 5, largely because the previous rules were awful.
Frankly I think the current rules are awful too, but people will keep insisting they're playable. (I don't think anyone has accused them of being fun, though.) They were very much written around the existing cards.
The page for the card game is here, and yeah, Photobucket hates me now; I can't open the folders (it forces me to log in and then tells me I need to pay or they'll delete everything). I've just copied the Card Pack Generator across to the Neocities site, and it seems to work okay; the cards it gives you have a Photobucket watermark on them, but if you open them in new tabs they come out clean. Failing that, the Crashing Down Theme Deck is a PDF and should definitely work.
I don't think there's any good reason to make a Gen 6. The biggest issue with the game is that the cards are two specialised - there's no reason for an Agent player to ever play a Canon, and no reason for a Badfic player to ever play a Canon except directly on top of their own Badfic, to be immediately Ensnared. There are so many monsters and locations that the odds of actually being able to play even one Monster card are really low - and why would anyone deliberately walk into a Monster anyway? Not to mention that if there's no Crossover card in play, it's entirely possible for the players to get stuck in entirely separate canons with no way to get to each other!
In the older rules, I think the Locations were played as a grid, and you could travel to adjacent ones. At the time I thought that was unwieldy, but it might be best to go back to it; maybe you have a separate Worldbuilding phase at the beginning of the game, where players take turns to place Locations until they fill out a grid (4x4 maybe?). Then it's almost like a boardgame, where you can move around in specific ways and strategically block paths with Monsters. Still can't find a good use for Canons though, other than literally feeding your own Suvian.

I saw Jay on the Board a couple of times. by

She dropped in... must have been late 2003, early 2004 to say hi.
I also spoke to her on MSN Messenger in 2004, after I posted "The Daughter of Jay and Acacia" on the Board. Someone had told her about it, and she messaged me to say she and Acacia both found it funny (and were okay with it existing). I think we talked a few times after that, though not at any length.
As you can imagine, I was extremely starstruck and probably borderline incoherent.
Kaitlyn, our still-occasionally-resident Ancientest of Ancientbies, tells me she remembers Jay (as Otik) still being an active poster when she joined - but doesn't remember Acacia posting much.
(From what I can tell, HarpWire was Jay's FFn account, with Acacia a co-author specifically for the PPC; so I'm not sure Acacia was ever as involved with the community.)
