Yeah, Barony July was pretty small. Along with Makari and Thanasius, you started with just one city; everyone else had two or more. I think I was particularly mean to you - you were Rome, but without access to iron. Oops. ^^' (Cities, obviously, were partitioned based on what castles lie within the barony's borders; since yours doesn't actually exist, your only city was your old ruins.)

As for who everyone was, I have a list of... most of that. I selected a couple for general feel (notably, Kaitlyn as Hatty), and then selected a primary trait for each baron. Since there are eleven traits, and I started with eleven barons, I went for one each. Then I chose from the available options.

Civs were assigned based either on their unique unit (for warlike leaders) or unique buildings (for peaceful); in Civ 4, you can disconnect leader from civilisation. So my original 11 were:

Thanasius - Genghis Khan - Spain
VixenMage - Pericles - Native America
Phobos - Mehmed II - China
Araeph - Huayna - Ottoman
Cassie - Louis XIV - Carthage
PC - Darius I - Mali
Neshomeh - Lincoln - Korea
Kaitlyn - Hatty - Persia
Iximaz - Cathy - HRE
Huinesoron - Sitting Bull - Celts
Dann - Churchill - Sumeria

The funniest moments while playing were watching Neshomeh Lincoln grimace and facepalm every time someone did something ridiculous. ^
^

But that setup had a big problem: VixenMage and Dann were taking over the map. So I added you and Makari in to balance out the east. You were Rome and Makari was China. Makari was roleplaying as Suleiman, and you were... um...

Oh, that's right. You were Izzy. ^_^ Which explains the 'mad religious feuds' aspect of things. Isabella is a liiiittle bit crazy about that. If I'd given you iron, you might well have dominated the eastern landscape.
