Your 'forthright manner' does you credit; but I have learned in my studies and in my travels that scoundrels are cannot always be identified by military actions. Indeed, some of the most foul of scoundrels are those who speak boldly while planning to achieve their dastardly goals by any means, should talk fail.

I say this, of course, not to imply that you are such a scoundrel as this; however, Baron Phobos, I say that a close eye must be kept on your actions following the close of this meeting of the Council. If your actions are pure, and do not contradict the consensus of this Council, whatever it may be, then, milord, will we have our true evidence. And should they be impure--should you attempt to claim these lands even if the Council does not rule in your favor--then there will be those who are well-placed to prevent the injustice.
