That you're exactly the scoundrel the other Barons think you are, Baron Phobos; merely weaker than your bluster intimates. You haven't the strength to face the rest of the Protectorate in open war - for that is what it would be, my Lord, open warfare upon both the Barons and the legacy of those who ruled from Harpwire. You lack the men, you lack the machines, you lack the capital, and you lack the spine to engage your Barons upon the field.

I am a lord of those who the laws of these lands keep outside, looking in with hungry bellies as the wolf-nights beckon, and yet we still abide by the laws you set. But you, you choose to believe that such naked theft does not apply.
