The idea of tea being made with carnivorous tea leaves freaks me out. Adding milk and/or sugar doesn't do anything to regular earl grey tea (besides make it taste nice) as far as I know, but I don't really know what would happen if you mixed Bleeprin with regular earl grey tea, milk, and sugar. Do you have an explanation?

Since you don't have Permission yet, though, I would advise not making Bleep Grey "official" until you do. Keeps the oldbies from getting weirded out.

On a slightly unrelated note, do you think adding sugar and/or milk to Bleeptea affects its potency? Since, y'know, bleep and also the tea leaves are carnivorous? I feel like someone would've run tests on this kind of thing

Since Bleeptea is made with some kind of carnivorous tea leaves, I am inventing Bleep Grey, earl grey tea with Bleeprin in it. And yes, I love earl grey tea and I maybe I am doing this so I can say "Tea, Bleep Grey, Hot," to purposely misquote Jean-Luc Picard.

I can't say I'm familiar with chatbots, but if this were an AI fed on the Board and/or wiki, wouldn't it have picked up our capitalization and punctuation habits (i.e. correct ones) more broadly? And, since this poster generally fails to capitalize anything except names, and that only sometimes, I wonder less that they don't capitalize "flower" and more that they bother with "HQ." It's also inconsistent with non-PPC terms: "Ph.D." in one paragraph, "phd" in another, in the same post.

I don't think a bot could have come up with the Hebrew version of my screen name, either—which is thoroughly wrong, by the way, because "neshomeh" is a variant spelling of the word in Yiddish, but Zingenmir can explain that better than I can; she's got a post in the works. My point is, it certainly didn't get that from us.

I'm also not sure a bot could intelligently respond indirectly to posts other than the one it's directly replying to, which this poster does a few times. (For a given value of "intelligence.")

Oh, and it has dropped a couple of links in various posts, but not in a spammy advert sort of way? I Googled 'em, because I was suspicious, but they were both legit websites, and unrelated to each other.

I'm more inclined to think there is a person behind all this. Just one who isn't nearly as smart as they think they are.

If this is a newbie or existing Boarder playing some strange game - they're fine. If it's a bot or troll which limits itself to non-harmful behaviour in this thread - it's fine.

If it engages in harmful behaviour, eg posting malicious links or advertising, or if it attempts to spread this style of posting outside this thread - it will be edited or blocked as spam as required.

That makes a lot of sense. Hence the nonsensical yet relevant replies. Probably a gibberish bot (eg https://thinkzone.wlonk.com/Gibber/GibGen.htm). The words seem familiar, because they are. They're almost certainly generated from the wiki, given some of the phrasing. Probably carefully, so that there aren't any agents, mostly just pages HQ and Flowers esque. Given that they don't mention many things aside from HQ and Flowers, probably a small sample.

As for who released it, I'm inclined to believe a troll. They want to annoy and infuriate us, so they've done this. Just ignore the bot. It'll reply whenever anyone replies, so stop replying basically.

Let's just leave it alone from now on, then the bot should shut up
